Columbus Day Weekend Retreat

October 8 - 11, 2010    w/ Surya
Rolling Meadows

Using the practices of yoga asana, pranayama, restorative poses, self-inquiry and meditation we will become acquainted with the ways resistance reveals itself.  We will explore ways we can let go and surrender to the reality of each moment, freeing us from these habitual reactions that only serve to keep us from experiencing the peace and freedom that we actually are.

Yoga and meditation help us to become aware of this conditioning and offers an opportunity to become free of them.   Resistance appears in our body as tension and a variety of sensations that we can become aware of with attention and patience.  When we resist what is, the breath changes in numerous ways that we can become familiar with.     When we are able to shift from resistance to acceptance,  a feeling of ease comes to the body and breath.

"Wherever you are, if you accept it, the suffering ends.  Whatever you reject becomes hell and whatever you accept becomes heaven."   Osho

This three night retreat begins with evening meal at 6pm Friday and ends at about mid-morning on Monday after a late breakfast.
