Spring Weekend
Journey to Wholeness
Yoga & Meditation Retreat
April 23 -25, 2010 w/ Surya
Rolling Meadows
The word "yoga" means to yoke or unite. The practice of yoga is a process of integrating and accepting all aspects of ourselves: the good, the bad and the ugly; the repressed and the expressed. Yoga guides us to the knowing that in truth we are not separate from nature or each other; that we are an integral part of the whole and that there is nothing wrong with us just as we are.
Yoga suggests we shift our focus from the busy thinking mind to the spacious awareness of the heart; to rest in each moment as it is and not as we think it should be. This takes us to the peace that is always available right now. This is not a complicated matter. If fact nothing could be more simple, although it is often not easily done.
With the support of yoga postures, pranayama, restorative poses, yoga nidra, meditation, self-inquiry and unstructured time in nature, this retreat will be an opportunity to experience the essence of Yoga, which is Love.
This weekend retreat begins with evening meal at 6pm on Friday April 23rd and ends at about mid-morning on Sunday April 25th after a morning session and a late breakfast.
