Rolling Meadows, a yoga retreat center on 100 acres of fields, woods, streams and a spring-fed pond in the hills of coastal Maine, provides a unique retreat experience in this rural sanctuary away from the demands and stimulation of one's daily life. Yoga retreats for up to 10 participants are offered throughout the year blending creatively-explored approaches to classical hatha yoga, meditation, the direct path of self-inquiry, silence, and nature. The format of these retreats has been developed over the years to provide a supportive environment to allow us to shed light on the habits and patterns that keep us from living in the ease and peace of our true nature.
A container of shared silence is maintained during retreat, except during the sessions. Silence is restful, being the mirror of our natural state. This silent community creates a supportive environment in which to surrender to the inner silence, allowing us to question our conditioned beliefs and surrender to the truth of our being. Patricia Brown and Surya Chandra Das are the teachers at this yoga retreat center, bringing 25 years of practice to their teaching, encouraging students to cultivate and intuitive receptivity and openness honoring the way each person uncovers their inner teacher. They also travel to lead yoga retreats in Guatemala, Mexico, and throughout the US. USA Today, Travel and Leisure.com and Boston.com named Rolling Meadows Retreat "one of the top ten places in the world to take a retreat." Testimonials "I can't believe it's been a whole month since I participated in your yoga and meditation retreat at Rolling Meadows. The beauty, peace and quiet fellowship are still with me every day. I will probably never visit the Mayan Highlands.. but I hope you keep your wonderful residential retreat open for a long time. Exotic is nice, but Maine is magic. Just thought you might like to know that your retreat has had a major impact on me. I have found better perspective and strength to deal with the various demands of my life. Your vegetarian meals were an inspiration that has changed the way I eat." (Participant from North Carolina) "I feel very lucky that out of all the yoga retreats "I found" you. Your presence and generosity confirms that we are Love and nothing else. You are a "beautiful healing system" for humankind (and we need it!)." (Participant from Canada) "The retreat couldn't have been better. The house is gorgeous, the land is magical and the food is spectacular - mostly fresh from the gardens..... When all the chitter-chatter of voices and the word of the page goes away your are left with the utter vibrancy of everything." (Participant from California) |
