A Retreat for Yoga Teachers
November 7 - 12, 2008
For teachers who are ready to take a serious plunge into their practice and teaching by expanding the boundary of asana practice and experiencing yoga as a vehicle for self-awakening.
Cultivate the capacity to listen, attend and feel in an embodied way to whatever is arising in the mind and body, experiencing the natural freedom that comes when we open to ourselves as we are and life as it is. This is the true purpose of yoga.
ABOUT THE RETREAT
The day begins with body-based sensing meditation.
Mid-morning asana class invites the practice to become more natural and internal, blending classical hatha yoga, vinyasa flow and breath while developing our ability to listen from within, experiencing the benefits of both form and formlessness approaches to the body.
Afternoon sessions will be a blend of self-inquiry (a willingness to notice long-held patterns of conditioning), restorative poses and pranayama.
The day will end with meditation.
Due to the in-depth nature of this retreat, periods of social silence will be part of this retreat experience.
